Tasting Notes
New Year's Tasting of the "Peña Els 12 Golafres": Fortified Wines of the 50s and 60s. Fino-style base from Montilla. 1961 Lot.

Appearance: Dark amber in color, brownish and cloudy, with amber-golden highlights.

Nose: Initially showing a somewhat unpleasant, highly reductive character. It opens within minutes to reveal a soft, mature Oloroso profile of great intensity. Toasted notes and seasoned wood emerge over a foundation of ripe fruit, nuts, bitter hazelnuts, and withered floral notes.

Palate: Broad and featuring a piercing acidity. Savory, balanced, and rounded, it displays a profile more characteristic of the "mountain" style (tila/linden, aromatic herbs) than the typical Sherry style. In peak condition.
