Tasting Notes
Appearance: Dark golden hue, nearing amber, with a certain sense of viscosity; orange highlights and bright.
Nose:
Powerful and concentrated, with aromas reminiscent of candied quince,
fresh vanilla, dried fruits (almonds), and Turkish figs, over a finely
"grapey" varietal backdrop. Serious, mature, and rounded. It gains depth with
aeration, showing a greater presence of creamy toast, wine-soaked wood,
bitter orange compote, honey, weaver’s broom, and refined citrus notes.
Palate:
Refined and agile, featuring excellent citrus acidity and great
freshness. Subtle spices are found resting upon ripe fruit and delicate
bitters. Addictive, complex, and broad, with great roundness. It is
exceptionally easy to drink without sacrificing the complexity granted
by its unusually long bottle aging. A "rare bird". Excellent.

Tasting Notes (2012-04-03)
Appearance: Old gold color, dark, with golden and orange highlights.
Nose: Powerful and open; expressive, varietal, and fruity. "Grapey" aromas dominate over a backdrop of traditional rancio
reduction. It features wine-soaked staves, cocoa butter, dried fruits,
and the honest expression of a Muscat that provides youthfulness (mint,
bitter orange, citrus). Complex and full of personality. It has aged
gracefully, gaining aging nuances such as honey, marzipan, and quince.
Palate: Mellow,
rounded, and subtly spiced; savory with high concentration. Very fresh
and vibrant, with the sweetness perfectly nuanced by its intense
acidity. Chapeau!
