Winemaking
Initially aged for 6 to 12 months in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This was followed by 48 months of aging in new 225-liter French and American oak barrels. The wine then rested for 18 to 36 months in the winery’s subterranean cellars (calados) prior to its commercial release.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Brownish-cherry of medium depth, displaying greater color stability and
concentration than the vast majority of Riojas from the same vintage.
Broad orange rim.
Nose:
Aromas of good intensity. Abundant vanilla and dairy notes suggest a
shift in the winery’s stylistic approach—a more modern Rioja with a
clear resemblance to contemporary profiles. Notes of very ripe fruit,
orange compote, and withered elements emerge, alongside a backdrop of
dried flowers and spices. While not overly flamboyant and struggling to
fully take flight, it is impeccably crafted.
Palate:
Balanced, smooth, and completely polished, with a more classical
structure than expected. Time has refined the wine, softening a slight
tannic edge that is still perceptible. It is currently standing on the
precipice; while it possesses more than enough acidity and a fine
"nervio" (energy) to remain viable, it is clearly fatigued. It is best
not to cellar it any longer and enjoy it now. It falls slightly short of
expectations.
