Tasting Notes

Appearance: Translucent brownish-ruby of medium-low depth; slightly turbid with significant sediment at the base of the bottle. It displays orange and copper glints with a broad, tawny (tile-red) rim.

Nose: Well-defined and expressive—open and powerful. It initially reveals sophisticated reductive notes of incense, sandalwood, and patchouli, alongside beeswax and fine cabinetry (ebanistería). A fragrant, smoky background of oriental spices (turmeric, star anise, Sichuan pepper) lends it a distinct autumnal character. It is rich in notes of leather, forest floor, black truffle, dried morels and wet earth, with a vegetal lift of bay leaf, green tea, and mentholated balsams. While it takes time to unfurl, it eventually unveils ripe fruit, chestnut cream, candied orange, and cherries in liqueur.

Palate: Refined and polished with a silken, slightly "fatty" texture. Seamlessly integrated, showing no aggressive reductive sensations. A serious, well-structured red that is consistent and smooth, featuring caressing tannins. The ensemble is rounded, fresh, and vibrant, driven by a good acidity and a finish packed with candied fruit. It offers immense drinking pleasure—spicy, long, and elegant.
