Winemaking:
The wine spent an initial 12 months in large, neutral wooden vats for fermentation and stabilization before being racked into barrels. It was aged for 5 to 6 years in used 225-liter American oak barrels. Manual rackings were performed every 6 months to avoid the need for filtration. Traditional fining with fresh egg whites was carried out before bottling in 75 cl containers. A minimum of 4 years of bottle aging in the winery’s cellars was required prior to its commercial release.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Luminous reddish-ruby color with medium-low depth; very clear. Scarcely
any sediment at the base of the bottle. Features brilliant garnet and
coppery reflections. Broad brick-orange rim, showing minimal variation
against the meniscus.
Nose:
Medium intensity and discrete, showing hints of reduced red fruit that
emerge intermittently beneath a soft, woody backdrop. It requires
aeration to gain presence and intensity. Clean vanilla notes unfold,
supported by ripe fruit, orange marmalade, stone fruit, and a subtle
perfume of withered flowers and dried petals that gradually takes over.
Fragrant and increasingly creamy, it reveals mineral nuances of flint,
graphite, and cold embers. In character, it bears more resemblance to a Reserva Especial than to a standard claret. A high-quality, impressive profile.
Palate:
Impeccably expressive and fully integrated. Round, elegant, and
remarkably vital, it remains as solid as the finest examples of the
legendary 1970 vintage. It surprises with a certain restrained "nerve,"
splendid structure, and a persistent core of acidity that tightens the
whole ensemble like a candy wrapper. It is a dynamic wine that
constantly evolves in the glass, gaining breadth, vigor, and maturity.

It is a wine in full plenitude that defies its age with extraordinary balance and structural integrity.
